Postcard Exchange??

Ok, I'm breaking my own rule of not thinking about school stuff during June! But getting on the blogs just sparks all of these ideas.

I was a part of a postcard exchange last year. It was supposed to be with 100 schools ----send out 100, you get 100 back. Well, we only ended up getting 40-something back. The kids still loved it, but there were so many teachers that flaked out. Bummer!

How many blog friends would be interested in something like this? It would be cool to incorporate Google Earth, and maybe even skype into the postcard exchange as well.

Just kicking around the idea of this......any interest??

  1. I planned on posting about a postcard exchange this summer. I too participated in an exchange. We set up an exchange to receive a postcard from each state. This really supports my social studies curriculum. We used Google Earth for each card received. Skype is an addition that I'd like to incorporate this next year. We should collaborate and plan this together. Would be less planning for one!

  4. Hi I'm Lisa. I found your blog through a blog hop. I would love to join your postcard exchange. I teach 3rd grade at a school in Walnut, CA. I just started a class blog so there's not much to it. I mainly set it up for the purpose of a podcasting class but decided I really liked the idea. It will be getting a make over this summer. You can visit it at matadors13.blogspot.com. Like I said it's my summer project. Looking forward to sharing all things techy with you. I loved your Earth Day video.

  5. I would be interested! Maybe we can organize a multi-state exchange through our blogs? I am in southern Utah, near Zion Canyon, Grand Canyon, and Bryce National Parks - we've got some GREAT photo postcards! :)
